2003 - February 24 to March 17th. - Malta, Gozo, Sicily, Pompei, Naples
Thanks to Maria Taylor, our excellent Travel Agent, for helping us through all the hoops. Maria retired some time before 2018 and so our trips are no longer as well organized as they were by Maria.

Mar. 16 - Windy, rainy. nasty weather. We stay in all day - read, TV, pack. (one big green bag and 2 carry on bags).
Mar. 17 - Wake up call for 4:00 - our flight is a 7:40 departure on St. Patrick's day. We are checked through and waiting at 5:30. The bombing in Iraq does not start until the 18th, when we are home. As I write this in Nov. 2006 the paranoia is worse than ever. Travelling is getting more and more difficult, with long line ups and limits on what we can carry on the airplanes. X-rays, shoes off, random carry on bag checks all create longer and longer line-ups.
If this difficulty in travelling in 2003 was bad; in 2021 it is nearly impossible with the Covid virus pandemic, all over the world. Our last trip out of Canada was in 2018 to Scandinavia (as I type this in Feb. 2022).
