2003 - February 24 to March 17th. - Malta, Gozo, Sicily, Pompei, Naples
Page 15 – Fly to Naples and bus tour to Pompei
Mar. 12 - a Mercedes cab to airport at 8:30 am and fly to Rome (when going to Italy all roads do lead to Rome) then on to Naples. To our pretty grotty old hotel at $200 a night, by 7:30 pm. We have a good dinner downstairs and arrange for a bus tour to Pompei starting at 8:00 tomorrow.
Mar. 13 - Leave in our small bus (5 people and a very good guide). Excellent tour and good information on the bus and at the site. We are back by apx. 1:30 and find our own lunch. Later we venture out for pizza and beer for dinner. The desk clerk at the hotel tells us to be careful of any valuables we carry, or better yet, do not carry anything that cannot be easily replaced. We don't have any trouble. I guess we look like peasants. :) Good day.
