On page 7 as we continue along the edge of the deck the plants we see are more of the pink hepatica, some ferns,
the special little maiden hair fern. There is a view of the dry stream. It begins by the large mossy rock, runs between the small cedar and the mountain laurel, past the astilbes and on under the edge of the deck. We see the Japanese lantern feature with the Japanese aralia immediately behind it. The dry stream curves at this juncture with the old stump to run along the edge of the deck where it curves again at the Euonymous fortunei 'emerald 'n' gold' and disappears in the ferns. Next to the astilbes and in front of the old stump there is a flat space of about 4 feet by 5 feet that I call the viewing platform. There are plastic stepping stones from the viewing platform that go past the little boxwood hedge and on under the deck to the 'someday to be' seating area. Next to the viewing platform there is the Nelly Moser clematis and a delphineum. These taller plants add some privacy to the viewing platform. The dry stream needs to have the moss cleaned off of it, and more pea gravel added, and rock stream sides added. I need to get the moss growing back on the lantern and the big mossy rock. I think the moss was ripped off by some bird looking for food under the moss.
