This great blue heron was seen on the deck railing, on April 14, 2021. The herons are constantly checking out the water garden for a fish lunch. At this time I had the tomatoe cages up and the pond was covered with water hycinths and lots of other plants. No lunch available. I skimmed off the pond and removed lots of the plants and took out the tomatoe cages just before the heron was back in November of 2023, and cleaned out all of the fish in the pond and in the deck tub. I guess I will need to add the tomatoe cages back to the pond edges, or perhaps, bamboo canes before I slowly restock the fish. See the water page for more information.
