Kelheim, Germany – October 31, 2005
The ship arrives at Kelheim at 8:00 a.m. and at 8:30 we depart for the Optional Danube Gorge Excursion. Pat is unable to go due to his flu.
Official version: Beginning in Kelheim, you will first visit the imposing Bavarian Friendship Hall perched high above the Danube. Then, continuing by boat, cruise through the breathtaking Danube Gorge giving you an awe-inspiring view of one of the most incredible natural wonders in Europe.
At the end of the cruise you will arrive at the magnificent Abbey of Weltenburg nestled on a gentle bend of the Danube River. You will have time to explore the Abbey and enjoy included refreshment at the local beer garden. For centuries, the resident monks have been brewing beer here, and you won’t want to miss sampling their delicious brew. This was one of the best tours on the trip. And the beer is soooooooo good!!
