Any other creations creating a favicon I found this site with easy understandable instructions on how to make a favicon and put it on my website. This is from her instructiions: How do you make your own favicon ? To make your own favicon, first make a graphic 16x16 pixels in no more than 16 colors. Save it as a bmp. You will then need a graphics program which can change a bmp into an icon. I recommend Irfanview. Click here to download the current version of IrfanView It should only take a couple of minutes to download! Use this program to change your bmp image into an icon. Name it favicon.ico then upload it to your server. You then need to add the following code to the tag of your html : < link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="http://www.yoursite.com/favicon.ico" > On this site there is information on how to make the favicon in photoshop. You can get a plug in for photoshop to make the ico file from on that website. I like the Irfanview program. It is user friendly and I need more time to look at all the things it does, besides the ico. I have used both of these codes on my ‘index’ page < link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="http://www.mmmee.com/favicon.ico" > < link rel="icon" href="http://www.mmmee.com/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" > *note: close the < and > brackets... I am too lazy to make it into a copy code. The favicon shows on all of the pages of my garden website. There are many places to read about making favicons.. just google it. next |
