The Old Oly
Until 2000 I was using my Olympus 2000 zoom point and shoot camera for travel, garden, friends and family snapshots. In 2003, I broke the film loading plates and retired this oldie.
The First Digital
My husband gave me my Canon Powershot A50 (1.3 mega pixels - lens - Canon Zoom 4.3 - 10.8 mm) for Christmas, 1999. This camera went with me everywhere and was my workhorse until I purchased my Canon S3 IS. Its old technology by all present standards, but still takes good pictures. I will eventually replace it with another pocket size digital. I will be interested in a DSLR at some point also.
The Compact Canon Cameras Digital
On September 4, 2006, I bought my Canon Powershot S3 IS digital camera from London Drugs. It has a 12 x Zoom lens, and many shooting modes and other interesting features. It does audio, and very large jpegs. but no RAW photos. It is now my carry around camera. I am learning to use it and getting some good color. That zoom is fantastic.
Canon Zoom Lens 12x 6.0-72.0mm 1:2.7-3.5 UltraSonic Motor, TC-DC58B (Tele-converter), WC-DC58A (wide converter),58mm close-up lens 500 D. My 58mm filters all fit on the adaptor, of course. I have a step down ring so the CS (52mm) fits also.
In February, 2013, I bought my Canon Powershot SX40 digital camera from London Drugs. It has a 40 x Zoom lens, and many shooting modes and other interesting features. It does audio, and very large jpegs, but no RAW photos. It is now my carry around camera. I am learning to use it and getting some good color. That zoom is fantastic.
In February, 2015, I traded my Hassleblad, the Canon Elan 7E body, and the Canon SX40 to Kerrisdale Cameras for the Canon SX60, a good card reader and few other incidentals. The SX60 shoots RAW and has that long 65X lens. It has all the features that the Rebel has. I have the rings to add all my 58mm filters. I updated my DNG converter to convert the RAW photos in photoshop. As at May 25, 2017, I still have some credit left with Kerrisdale. I will need some cards with more space on them as I shoot in RAW and it keeps jpegs, too.
The Sony Digital
On December 15, 2011, I bought my Sony Cybershot DSC W-560 digital camera from Walmart. It has a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar wide angle lens - 26mm. It does sweep panoramas and has pretty good low light color and no noise. It does videos. but no RAW photos. It is pocket size and a fun new toy.
The Digital SLR - Canon EOS Rebel T1i or 500d Digital
On January 28, 2011, I purchased my Canon EOS Rebel 500d also called the T1i, at London Drugs. The camera body plus Lexar PII SDHC of 16 GB ($70.00), Screen protector, and tax, came to a total of $779.13. Camera body alone was $629.99. Also purchased an extra battery at All Battery for $50.00. The lenses that I use on my Elan 7e also work on this camera.
Experimenting with all manual settings, using a variety of film types, filters, etc. and enjoying every minute of it.
This is a great deal of fun!!!

my Holga 120S in December of 2004. My first roll out of
the camera was over-exposed. After having an informative
chat with the people at the lab - Kerrisdale Cameras - my second roll out of the
camera has much better results. I revived an old
Honeywell Strobolite 18 with new batteries and stuck it
in the hotshoe for a couple of the shots. I had taped
just the bottom of the back. The second roll gave me
about 7 reasonable shots and 3 pretty good 'toy' camera
photos. I was using Ilford Delta 400. Should use at least
