the flower of the Bergenia cordifolia that grows in the shade of the sweet gum tree, next to
the little box hedge that is one border for the grass path at the top of the front garden.
The west coast planter is at the other side of the bergenia, with the little rockery
stepping stones dividing the bergenia, and the Japanese anemones from the rock plants.
