| DAY 5 – Heidelberg, Germany – Uniworld version
Page 9 – October 26, 2005 We sail over night from Rudensheim to Frankfurt, going through several locks. Disembark in Frankfurt for a scenic drive to Heidelberg, the oldest university town in Germany. Tour the impressive castle with its romantic ruins and admire the view of the surrounding Neckar Valley. The castle, which developed over many centuries, was once the residence of the mighty Count Palatine, the most influential ruler in this part of Europe. Continue to the historic city center for a guided walk followed by lunch in a local restaurant. (The Ritter Hotel). In the afternoon there will be free time to shop and explore on your own. Rejoin your ship in Aschaffenburg, further along the Main River and sail to Miltenberg where the ship will overnight.
